Hello. I am a non-American citizen. Would GiveWell be able to sponsor foreign applicants for work visas in the USA?
Sincerely,
Curious
Curious – no, we do not currently sponsor applicants for work visas, though we would consider it in exceptional circumstances. Feel free to email us at info@givewell.org if you think that might apply to you.
Is there a rough deadline for the applications to be due by, for the position of Conversation Notes Writer?
Hi Evan,
There’s no hard deadline, but we have started working with a few people and it’s possible that they’ll fully meet the need we have. If we need more Conversation Notes Writers beyond the people we’re working with now, we’d start with applications we’ve received.
So, the bottom line is: it might be worth holding off on applying because we might not need you. On the other hand, if you’re OK with that possibility and want to make sure we consider you in the future, you should apply.
I hope that helps! Also feel free to email jobs@givewell.org directly with any questions.
