This is just a reminder to donors considering supporting our top charities in the next few months. As we do every year, we’re planning to refresh our top charity rankings before December 1st.

I realize that refreshing charity recommendations around this time of year helps have an updated picture for the year-end spike in donations, but I’m wondering why top charities aren’t refreshed continually. that is, if GiveWell discovers a charity worthy of taking over the #1 spot, assuming all the due-diligence has been done, why wait for year-end to update recommendations? or am I misunderstanding the purpose of this “refresh”?
mm – If we had a recommendation that we were confident was better than our #1 recommendation earlier in the year, we’d update earlier. However, these updates require a considerable amount of work and comparison across organizations, which we typically only plan to do once per year, so it’s unlikely we’d become confident in a different recommendation set earlier in the year.
Could we secure an expanded of deserving charities to
the TOP 100 Charities ?
